Openings of conservation success
After six months of being closed, a mangrove reserve is opened for fishing and crab harvesting - the benefits of such conservation measures were plain to see. The villagers of Antanimanimbo were so pleased with the results that they are eager to implement more reserve closures and help both the local mangrove ecosystem and their livelihoods.

Locally-Managed Marine Areas: Towards a global learning network
Blue Ventures and 18 scholarship winners attended the IUCN World Conservation Congress in South Korea, where we hosted a workshop with Cordio and the LMMA Network. The workshop showcased the emerging Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) movement.
