{"id":155,"date":"2007-04-23T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-04-23T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blueventures.org\/blog\/?p=155"},"modified":"2007-04-23T17:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-04-23T16:00:00","slug":"once-upon-a-time-an-open-day-in-andavadoaka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.blueventures.org\/en\/once-upon-a-time-an-open-day-in-andavadoaka\/","title":{"rendered":"Once upon a time&#8230; an open day in Andavadoaka&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> This day was organised 2 expeditions ago and it began with a presentation of all the Blue ventures projects that have been run over the past couple of years.<br \/>The Radoko (doctor in malagasy) bought 5 boxes of condoms to the village accompanied by a poster on contraception and sexually transmitted diseases.<br \/>There were also posters on MPA&#8217;s explaining the problems of overfishing as well as the different levels of monitoring and surveys.<br \/><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_2sC8zyeHSQw\/Rgka2Vol2ZI\/AAAAAAAAAIs\/5Q5daBN7HeE\/s1600-h\/Lesson+1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" data-src=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_2sC8zyeHSQw\/Rgka2Vol2ZI\/AAAAAAAAAIs\/5Q5daBN7HeE\/s200\/Lesson+1.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5046594378268006802\" border=\"0\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/a>There was a puzzle made using a satellite image of Andavadoaka which villagers tried to piece together. More posters this time about sharks and turtles to help people recognise the different species, and paper and pens so they could draw them.<br \/>Meanwhile, in the bat cave, children could fish for colourful stones in a bucket with artisanal line and learn how to breath with a regulator.<br \/>All of this was followed by Beach Olympics on half moon beach with all the children under the watchful eye of the adults. Ending in a hundred children playing football with two space hoppers and lots of buckets of water!<br \/>After lunch and the sand castle competition, was the pirogue race that rivalled the rhum&#8217;s course!!
