{"id":4776,"date":"2013-09-10T13:36:43","date_gmt":"2013-09-10T12:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bvblog.wpengine.com\/?p=4776"},"modified":"2014-04-25T12:39:32","modified_gmt":"2014-04-25T11:39:32","slug":"lobsterfest-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.blueventures.org\/en\/lobsterfest-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Lobsterfest 2013: a photo diary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Jen Chapman, Country Coordinator, Belize<\/p>\n<p>Placencia&#8217;s 2013 Lobsterfest was more about lionfish than the traditional fishery! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seabelize.org\/\">SEA<\/a>&#8216;s third annual lionfish tournament was implemented with the support of Blue Ventures and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tidebelize.org\/\">TIDE<\/a>, seeing three dive teams remove almost 600 lionfish from nearby reefs. Data collected from the catch included total weight, stomach contents, sex ratios and size distribution.
